Zusammenfassung: | This study aimed to evaluate the effect on surface roughness of restorative materials (composite resin, modified glass ionomer, acrylic resin, bis-acrylic resin and sealant) after immersion in taperebá, cola soda and artificial saliva at different times (initial, 7 and 30 days of immersion). Methods: Thirty samples of each material were manufactured and distributed into each immersion solution (n=10). After 24 hours from sample manufacturing, the initial readings were performed by evaluating the roughness (Ra standard). Subsequently, the test specimens were stored in individual flasks kept in an oven at 36°C containing 5 mL of the solution, replaced weekly. After 7 and 30 days of immersion, the roughness was measured again. The results were submitted to statistical analysis (Kruskal-Wallis and Friedmann tests - p0,05). Results: For the sealant there was increase of the surface roughness after immersion in all the solutions. In the composite resin, glass ionomer and bis-acrylic resin, the surface roughness increased only after immersion in the taperebá solution. The acrylic resin presented increased surface roughness after immersion in the taperebá solution, while saliva and coke solutions promoted a decrease in roughness. Conclusion: It was concluded that the juice of taperebá promoted changes in the roughness of all materials tested. In Some dental materials, Coca-Cola™ caused a decrease in surface roughness and artificial saliva showed an increase in surface roughness in the statistically significant sealant group in the in vitro test |
