Avaliação da funcionalidade familiar de idosos na cidade de Parintins-AM

Abstract

The present research has the objective of evaluating the familiar functionality of the elderly, enrolled in the Elderly Living Groups coordinated by the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance, Work and Housing - SEMASTH of the municipality of Parintins. This is a descriptive study of a quantitative approach with a sample of 296 elderly people from 11 groups distributed in the city, with which interviews and applied instruments of socioeconomic data collection and APGAR de Família, instrument used to evaluate satisfaction of the elderly with the family and its functionality. Of the elderly interviewed, 60.5% are female, in the age group between 70 and 75 years, 46% were married the majority with children and low schooling. In the APGAR evaluation, 80.1% of the families were functional, 12.8% moderately dysfunctional and 7.1% with high dysfunction. The study shows that 80.1% of the elderly are satisfied with the family, however it is necessary to do other studies that verify the intradomiciliary conditions in the elderly care, since even low dysfunctionality, the laws that govern the status of the elderly say that it is not acceptable for the elderly to go through any family problems, be it financial, emotional, lack of care, food or violence.
