Abstract

his article deals with the urban space that brings us a reflection on cities, these are the result of the relations of man, the city of Barreirinha located on the right bank of the Paraná do Ramos in the Middle Amazon like so many others have this main characteristic, its urban space that had a whole process of building its areas as its commercial center, first streets, first neighborhoods and so on. In order to understand and know the construction of the urban space of the city of Barreirinha, some questions are raised as to why it was built in a lowland area, in which the last floods punished quite a few? Why your current structure today? Why are not there any more important points, which were attractive, that were part of your urban space that were typical of Barreirinha? Like, the old library, the Square of the Little Student and others. According to a part of its history, the city of Barreirinha was planned to be built on the right bank of the river Andirá, in the firm and high lands of the present District of Andirá, which is rural area of ​​the municipality of Barreirinha. One of the main ways of this work is to understand how the construction of the Urban Space of the city took place, Geography being a tool to talk about and teach about the formation of cities in and of the Amazon, to analyze the conditions of the present urban space of the city, to identify the elements and factors that contributed to the construction of its urban space and reflect on the spatial-urban formation according to the historical survey carried out. The city of Barreirinha today has a somewhat contradictory spatial-urban configuration, with respect to many aspects, starting with the place where it was built, and its history that encompasses the process of construction of its urban space, can show, explain and answer our questions to understand this small town in the state of Amazonas.
