O rural e o urbano na Amazônia: um estudo das transformações socioambientais no distrito de Freguesia do Andirá no município de Barreirinha-AM

Abstract

The discussion of the rural and the urban in the Amazon is a challenge, because these relations occur here in a very differentiated way, mainly because we have in the Amazon a rural one that is distinguished by the importance that the river and the forest have in the life of the peoples . In this sense, this work aimed to understand the main socio-spatial transformations in the District of Andirá in the municipality of Barreirinha engendered mainly from the introduction of urban elements (water and electricity). For this purpose a qualitative-quantitative research was used, having as basis the dialectical method. The District of Freguesia is located on the right bank of the river Andirá, in an area of ​​land in the municipality of Barreirinha, being distant to 06 km of the municipal headquarters, being that the means of transport to arrive at this place is via fluvial. The local population is around 1300 inhabitants, which is divided into 272 families. We found that there were significant socio-spatial changes in this place, mainly social ones. Parish has good infrastructure services such as Health Center, colleges, trade, as well as services such as water and electricity, and the streets of the place began to be paved recently. As for the social sphere, the changes are more latent, albeit in a different rhythm, since the values ​​of the urban reach differently the life of the local residents, reaching mainly the younger residents, whereas in the older residents this influence happens on a smaller scale . In this way it was identified that the urban is present in this place, influencing, but not becoming hegemonic, since the rural as a way of life keeps multiple forms of resistance.
