Cultura Material e Identidade Cultural: ou como os Tefeenses percebem o Patrimônio Histórico e Arqueológico

Abstract

To understand the relations between people and objects, when we speak of cultural heritage, we must first verify the importance and the place of these objects in the memory and identity of the subjects. In this sense, taking into account the studies that have been developing on the issue of patrimony and identity, this work sought to ascertain the discourses of residents of the city of Tefé-AM on what they consider as cultural heritage and how they appropriate them. As a theoretical-methodological reference, we rely on authors who discuss the relationship between material culture, memory and cultural identity, such as Catroga (2015), Funari and Pelegrini (2009) and Hall (2014). For the analysis of the question proposed in this work, interviews were conducted with 18 residents of different districts of the city, which allowed identifying what is considered heritage in Tefé, the discourses and the forms of appropriation of cultural assets.
