Abstract: The article aims to understand the context related to the production period of the Muhuraida, by the Portuguese military Henrique João Wilkens, as well as the literary context referring to the Brazilian colonial epic tradition, relating to other works of the period described. See also analyze the importance of Muhuraida pioneering as the firstborn text in Amazonian literature. The methodology used in the production of this article consists of the bibliographic method, based on authors such as Amoroso (1992); Costa (2013); Góis (2013); Grizoste (2018); Pêgo (2010); Silva & Ramalho (2011) and Treece (1993).
Description: O artigo tem como objetivo compreender o contexto relativo ao período de produção da Muhuraida, de autoria do militar português Henrique João Wilkens, bem como o contexto literário referente à tradição épica brasileira colonial, relacionando com outras obras do período descrito. Vista também analisar a importância do pioneirismo da Muhuraida como texto primogênito na literatura amazonense. A metodologia utilizada na produção deste artigo consiste no método bibliográfico, com base em autores como Amoroso (1992); Costa (2013); Góis (2013); Grizoste (2018); Pêgo (2010); Silva & Ramalho (2011) e Treece (1993).
