| Zusammenfassung: | This text presents some considerations on the presence of the French language and its literatures in the modern poetry of Cape Verde. Firstly, the author distinguishes between the refusal and the selection of the Francophone modernity by the generations of José Lopes and Jorge Barbosa respectively. Then, the advantageous acceptance of either the symbolism or the surrealism by poets such as Mário Fonseca, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, Valentinous Velhinho and J.L. Hoppfer C. Almada is shown. Finally, the author points out the two greatest Cape Verdean poets of the latest decades, João Vário and Arménio Vieira, referring to some of the aspects which, in their work, best testify the learning from the Francophone masters. Arménio Vieira comes to his Damascus Road while reading the works of Lautréamont or Pierre Reverdy. The book Exemple Restreint, written originally in French (in 1969) and much influenced by Saint-John Perse, occupies a central place in the poetical work of João Vário. |
| Beschreibung: | Este texto apresenta algumas considerações sobre a presença da língua francesa e das suas literaturas na poesia moderna de Cabo Verde. Assim, distinguem-se em primeiro lugar a recusa e a seleção da modernidade francófona por parte das gerações de José Lopes e de Jorge Barbosa, respetivamente. Assinala-se depois a profícua aceitação do Simbolismo ou do Surrealismo em poetas como Mário Fonseca, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, Valentinous Velhinho e J. L. Hopffer C. Almada. Finalmente, destacam-se os dois maiores poetas cabo-verdianos das últimas décadas, João Vário e Arménio Vieira, referindo-se alguns dos aspetos que, nas suas obras, melhor testemunham a aprendizagem com os mestres de língua francesa. Arménio Vieira encontra nas obras de Lautréamont ou de Pierre Reverdy a sua Estrada de Damasco. O livro Exemple Restreint, escrito diretamente em francês (em 1969) e muito devedor de Saint-John Perse, ocupa um lugar axial em toda a obra poética de João Vário. |
