| Abstract: | Neuralgia maxillofacial odontogenic neural or is a constant in the dental office, being the professional dentist to diagnose it and treat it. There is still no consensus on the best approach, whether surgical or therapeutic treatment of maxillofacial neuralgia of neural origin. The intensity, frequency and duration of pain or symptoms present and the choiceregarding the the treatment desired by the patient will determine the treatment to be used. In this study the surgical technique is described as an alternative in the treatment of neuralgias of neural origin for patients intolerant of drug therapy, or who did not achieve the expected outcome with this therapy and opted for surgical technique as the first treatment option. | Description: | A neuralgia maxilo facial de origem odontogênica ou neural é uma constante nos consultórios odontológicos, cabendo ao profissional cirurgião dentista diagnosticá-la etratá-la. Ainda não existe um consenso sobre a melhor conduta, se cirúrgica ou terapêutica para o tratamento da neuralgia maxilo facial de origem neural . A intensidade, periodicidade e duração, da dor ou seja a sintomatologia presente e a opção de escolha quanto ao tratamento desejado pelo paciente vão determinar o tratamento a ser utilizado. Neste trabalho a técnica cirúrgica será descrita como alternativa no tratamento das neuralgias de origem neural para pacientes intolerantes a terapia farmacológica ou que não alcançaram o resultado esperado com essa terapia ou optaram pela técnica cirúrgica como primeira opção de tratamento. |
