Abstract

Based on the principles of ethnomathematics, a qualitative research was carried out with the objective of Understanding how the socio-cultural activities developed in the São José community, rural area of the municipality of Parintins, could be used as references for mathematical teaching and learning in the final years of teaching fundamental. The research was carried out in the São José community located in the municipality of Parintins, in the state of Amazonas. For the construction of the data, we used the contributions of ethnography to carry out the narrative research, observations and photographic record in the context of the fishing net. Subsequently, a triangulation was performed to interpret the data / information constructed. The results of the research allow us to affirm that fishing confections constitute a process of teaching and learning that could be used in community schools.
