Caracterização morfodescritivas das raças da espécie Bactris gasipaes (pupunha) na região do Zé açú no município de Parintins-AM

Abstract

Bactris gasipaes is a tropical palm native to the Amazon region. In this way, we emphasize the relevance of studying the varieties to know the benefits that this fruit brings to the population, besides encouraging their consumption. The objective of this work is to characterize morphologically the breeds of B. gasipaes, to verify the varieties and to characterize the individuals regarding the reproductive and vegetative structures of occurrence in the Gleba of Vila Amazônia, Zé Açú region. It was used the descriptive research, with data collection, observing some aspects: trunk diameter and height, presence or absence of tiller, leaf length, distance of scars, absence and presence of spines, inflorescence, quantity of fruits and bunches by palm tree, and the size of the area destined to the cultivation of the pupunha. The results show that there are no visible differences in the plants, all follow the same vegetative pattern, differentiating their races only by the coloration of their fruits.
