Os desafios enfrentados por enfermeiros nos cuidados prestados aos recém-nascidos em uma Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal do Amazonas

Abstract

To identify the challenges faced by nurses in the care of newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit and the impact on the quality of life of the professionals. Method: This is a cross-sectional exploratory study. The data collection instrument used is the Portuguese version of a questionnaire to assess the quality of life of nurses in a hospital environment, adapted by Fleck et al. (2000). Results: During the research period, 12 nurses responded to the questionnaire. Although many aspects of the work environment are perceived positively, there are still areas of concern, such as freedom to create, sleep problems, and meeting basic physiological needs. Conclusion: The importance of providing better working conditions for nurses is highlighted. These improvements can be achieved by investing in professional qualifications and increasing the resources available in the workplace, which will contribute to a better quality of life for nurses and more effective care for newborns
