Zusammenfassung: Urban trees and vegetation have numerous uses and functions in the urban environment, ensuring better quality of life population. The objective of this study was to characterize the current state of urban trees in central city of Tefé, AM, by taxonomic identification and quantification of its trees, its pattern of distribution and characterization of road infrastructure. We searched 7 most central districts of the city: Centro, Santa Rosa, Pottery, Castle Hill, San Antonio, San Francisco and Jurua. All trees with CBH ≥ 15cm were sampled and the information on height, crown diameter and plant health were taken. We sampled 296 individuals belonging to 21 families and 31 espécies. As most abundant species were Ficus benjamina and Mangifera indica.O more wooded neighborhood was the center neighborhood, probably one of the most frequented neighborhoods, while the least wooded neighborhood was Monte Castelo, being further away, where residents have poor conditions and thereafter become forgotten by the government. No sidewalks got great condition, and the neighborhoods that had sidewalks with concept "good" were: Center, San Antonio, Jurua and Santa Rosa, Most plants obtained plant health. However, it was realized that neighborhoods are not well wooded, with the few trees concentrated in squares, kiosks and orla.Como result, it is expected that this work will bring useful information to expand discussions on urban forestry Tefé and contribute to a future planning of afforestation.
