| Resumo: | Este trabalho pretende analisar as pesquisas historiográficas acerca da Escravidão, Presença africana na Amazônia e presença africana e afrodescendentes na Província do Amazonas em fins do século XIX. O trabalho está dividido em dois capítulos, sendo que o primeiro enfatiza que, a viabilidade das pesquisas a cerca da temática possuem um significado importante para a sociedade brasileira, tendo em vista esse apontamento, buscou-se entender, através de revisão bibliográfica a escravidão como instituição construída historicamente pelo homem, bem como, o tráfico apresenta-se como fator principal na inserção de negros nas Américas, contribuindo para a relação de poder e subordinação imposta pelo conquistador europeu aos povos ameríndios e africanos de fins do século XVI ao XIX no território brasileiro. Ainda nesse ponto diagnosticou-se que a presença africana na Amazônia se fez em números significativos e o quanto a escravidão nesse lugar fora tão relevante para esta sociedade inserida num império escravista. O segundo capitulo trata da Província do Amazonas (cidade de Manaus como capital) em fins do século XIX. Visando que a cidade passava por um momento de mudanças e reestruturação urbana e populacional que tinha como modelo padrão a Europa; é nesse espaço que africanos livres, escravos ou ex-escravos, indígenas etc., estabeleceram relações de solidariedade mútua no trabalho para sobreviver em meio aos diversos mundos da escravidão, sendo estes protagonistas e produtores de diferentes interpretações de liberdade. Descrever a presença desses indivíduos na província nos levou a entender os aspectos da miscigenação biológica e cultural que constitui-se como característica principal desta sociedade. O resultado desta pesquisa apresenta-se no aspecto inegável da presença africana na Amazônia e especificamente no Amazonas, demonstrando que esses trabalhadores não apenas figuraram, e sim foram fundamentais para composição de fortunas nas pequenas escravarias amazonenses; sendo também importantes na consolidação cultural, étnica e política da região. |
| Abstract: | This work aims to analyze historiographic research on Slavery, African presence in the Amazon and African and Afro descendant presence in the Province of Amazonas at the end of the 19th century. The work is divided into two chapters, and the first emphasizes that the feasibility of the research on the subject of the theme has an important meaning for Brazilian society, in view of this note, we sought to understand, through review bibliographic slavery as an institution historically constructed by man, as well as trafficking presents itself as a main factor in the insertion of blacks in the Americas, contributing to the relationship of power and subordination imposed by the European conqueror to the Amerindian and African peoples from the end of the 16th to the 19th century in Brazil blacks in the Americas, contributing to the relationship of power and subordination imposed by the European conqueror to the Amerindian and African peoples from the end of the 16th century to the 19th century in Brazil. Still at this point it was diagnosed that the African presence in the Amazon was made in significant numbers and how much slavery in this place was so relevant to this society inserted in a slave empire. The second chapter deals with the Province of Amazonas (city of Manaus as capital) at the end of the nineteenth century. Aiming that the city was going through a moment of changes and urban and population restructuring that had in standard model Europe; it is in this space that free Africans, slaves or former slaves, indigenous peoples, etc., established relationships of mutual solidarity at work to survive through the various worlds of slavery, being these protagonists and producers of different interpretations of freedom. Describing the presence of these individuals in the province led us to understand the aspects of biological and cultural miscegenation that is a main characteristic of this society. The result of this research is presented in the undeniable aspect of the African presence in the Amazon and specifically in the Amazon, demonstrating that these workers not only figured, but were fundamental for the composition of fortunes in the small Amazonian slaves; important in the cultural, ethnic and political consolidation of the region. |
