To know the epidemiology of the endoparasites is of great importance for elaboration and implementation of control measures and prevention. Inserted in this context, the present study evaluated the prevalence of the helminthes Ascarislumbricoides and Trichuristrichiura in the resident population in the urban area of the municipal district of Tefé/AM, according to the age group and the gender. The records of the coprologicalexams were analyzed accomplished at the laboratory of clinical analyses of reference, in the period of August and September of 2016. Of the 1.056 examsaccomplished in the period, 434 presented positive results for Ascarislumbricoides and Trichuristrichiura. The female sample belonged to 285 individuals, with 32 year-old average and 146 patients male, that it presented the average of age 35 years. The infected women's percentage for Ascaris and Trichuris was of 48% and 63%respectively, for the men this was of 59% and 49%respectively. The total prevalence of Ascarislumbricoides was of 47% and Trichuristrichiura of 53%. The women, children (0-9 years) and adolescents (10-19 years) they are still in greater proportions in the samples in works related to parasites, fact that it is related to the greater search for medicine practices by the female gender and by the more direct contact that the children have with the environment that surrounds them. However the men in the case of the Ascarislumbricoides are more affected, the youths (20-29 years-old) and adults (30-39) they also represent a great portion of this sum. Thus, control and prevention actions are necessary, because when we identify the aspects that influence the contamination of these helminths, such as sanitary sanitation, consequently the prevalence of infection will decrease.en
