Cultura árabe no Amazonas: histórias e percursos do Grupo Síria do Amazonas

Abstract

That state of Amazonas had one of its most valuable times, the rubber period. That attracted countless eyes, including Arab, Syrian and Lebanese immigrants, who arrived here with a single objective, to survive. Within so many events that shaped the trajectory of Arab culture in the Amazon, we come across the history of the Syrian Dance Group of Amazonas, which was born from a phenomenon called International Dances, an event that moves the city to this day, an escape from art, dance, theater, fashion and many other aspects that built a folkloric vision to these groups. And to reach the goal of describing everything that actually happened, it was necessary to interview the coordinators and founders of this group that for over 25 years has been following its path, understanding the affection that the immigrants themselves created with this movement, the encouragement, the share their memories and manifestations that provoked an Arab cultural expansion in the state of Amazonas.
