Abstract: Non-formal methodologies of education are increasingly present in the process of Teaching-Learning. In this way, use of teaching tools, which together with traditional ones to stimulate the exchange of knowledge and knowledge is fundamental to this process. In the present work, we search for to insert a discussion about practices that reconcile the process of traditional teaching associated to the university, as a foster to Extension, along with experiences of Non-formal education and insertion of Scientific Culture in the municipal education of children of Caçapava do Sul - RS. We will deal here with the experiences of transposing scientific knowledge for elementary school children in a ludic-pedagogical method in the scope of the project Virtual Geological Museum of Pampa, developed at the Federal University of Pampa. Through activities that reconciled Teaching of Geosciences, University Extension and Pedagogical Practices the work required to use different teaching strategies to discuss these themes with the children. The data indicated that the activities developed in the scope of the study that after the interventions the students plausibly articulated the scientific knowledge of the formation theory of the volcano, as well as of the processes that involve them. It was noticed that the activities developed in the present work do not represent pedagogical innovations, but they stand as foundations of the institutional, academic and social responsibility of the university towards community.
