Abstract

This work will approach the development of G-code programs by combining manual programming with programming using code-generating software. The choice of this theme has been defined because there is the growing doubt of programmers in what moments manual programming may be superior to software programming and the opposite too. Therefore, it was necessary to prove in which situations which of the two methods would be used. For this, two analysis techniques were used: timing of programming time and comparison of the size of generated G codes. The data obtained prove what was expected: software programming is more feasible. However, the work environment is not always ideal, so it has also been proven that there are cases where manual programming may be more advisable. After the approach in the work can be verified that before defining which programming method should be used, the work environment must be analyzed because this will determine which method will be used. This work can be used to perform the study for other machining processes in which there is computerized numerical control.
