Eventos fenológicos de orquídeas da Ilha da Paciência - Iranduba / AM

Abstract

The Orchidaceae Family is distributed throughout most of the planet, however the greatest diversity of species occurs in tropical and subtropical regions. In Brazil, especially in the Amazon, this diversity is very marked, but there is little knowledge on the part of the population in general about its ecological and economic importance The Island of Patience, in the municipality of Iranduba / AM, has several lakes, among them the Sacambú lake and Preto lake, with a diverse number of faunal and floristic species, which are widely used by the local community for both fishing and sightseeing. Considering the ecological value and the tourism potential of the orchids, the objective of this work was to know the diversity and phenology of epiphytic orchids of the Sacambú and Preto lakes of the Island of Patience - Iranduba / AM. The Orchidaceae family occurs in both lakes and, in the collection area, 36 individuals were found, 28 individuals on the banks of Sacambú lake and 8 individuals on the shores of Preto lake. Specimens of orchids were identified in 05 genera: Catasetum, Encyclia, Brassavola, Trichocentrum and Schomburgkia. In Sacambú lake, the genus with the highest occurrence was Catasetum, with 23 individuals, and in the Preto lake, the genera Trichocentrum and Schomburgkia were the most representative. The phenology of these orchids, in the two lakes of Paciencia Island, demonstrated that the genera have flowering in the first semester of the year, in the period of elevation of the water level. A folder was elaborated with information about the orchids identified for dissemination to the community.
