Abstract: This article apresents as a theme the influence of Portuguese as a second language: the linguistic uses of Tikuna studants of the State School of Indigenous Almirante Tamandaré. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of Portuguese as a second language on the linguistic uses of the Tikuna studants in the school and family invironment. For that, sociolinguistic questionnaire and interviews wereused as methodological procedures. The research was based on Hamel, (1988) who talks about social bilingualism that is the coexistence or presence of two languages in the same sociocultural spaces and in (Savedra 1994), which deals with the question of Bilingualism and Bilingual. In this perspective, it is understood that a bilingual community is one in which two languages are spoken, or which its members, or part of them, are bilingual, as is the case of the Indigenous Community of Umariaçú II, place of realization of the research.
Descrição: Este artigo apresenta como temática a influência do português como segunda língua: os usos linguísticos dos alunos Tikuna da Escola Estadual Indígena Almirante Tamandaré. O objetivo desse trabalho foi investigar a influência do português como segunda língua nos usos linguísticos dos alunos tikuna no ambiente escolar e familiar. Para tanto, foram utilizados como procedimentos metodológicos questionário sociolinguístico e entrevistas. A pesquisa foi fundamentada em Hamel (1988) que fala sobre o bilinguismo social que é a coexistência ou co-presença de duas línguas nos mesmos espaços socioculturais e em Savedra (1994), que trata da questão de bilinguismo e bilingualidade. Nessa perspectiva, entende-se que, uma comunidade bilíngue é aquela em que se falam duas línguas, ou em que seus membros, ou parte deles, são bilíngues, como é o caso da Comunidade Indígena de Umariaçú II, local de realização da pesquisa.
