| Abstract: | The objective of this bibliographic research is showing, taking as theoretical assumption Israel work in April, the Erico Verissimo writer has a pessimistic sense of history, evident not only in this travelogue, but in other of his novels. Moreover, the work analyzed provides the reader with a historical arsenal on Judaism and on the creation of the state of Israel, in addition to the discussion of memory and forgetting, trauma and genocide, and notions of identity and otherness. The author of Rio Grande gives us an insight into the events of that part of the world from their experiences and time / space he is in. The work Israel emAbril is a great written heritage of the state of Israel from the perspective of a expert Brazilian writer. Keywords: Israel, Judaism, memory, history, oblivion. |
| Description: | O objetivo deste trabalho de pesquisa bibliográfica é mostrar, tomando como pressuposto teórico a obra Israel em Abril, que o escritor Erico Verissimo tem uma noção pessimista da História, evidente não apenas neste relato de viagem, mas em outros de seus romances. Além disso, a obra analisada fornece ao leitor um arsenal histórico sobre o judaísmo e sobre a criação do estado de Israel, ademais da discussão sobre memória e esquecimento, traumas e genocídios, e noções de identidade. O autor sul rio-grandense nos fornece uma visão sobre os acontecimentos daquela parte do mundo, a partir de suas experiências e do tempo/espaço em que se encontra. A obra Israel em Abril é um grande patrimônio escrito sobre o estado de Israel na perspectiva de um exímio escritor brasileiro. |
