Abstract: Introduction: Mathematics is part of people's daily lives, but many are unaware of its applicability and
importance. Therefore, we propose a study that would understand mathematics and its applicability in the
development of physical exercises. General objective: Understand how mathematics is applied in physical
exercise for the best development of muscular hypertrophy. Methodology: Qualitative research, exploratory
strategy and field research. Research subjects were three practitioners of the sport of bodybuilding. The
research was carried out in a gym, in which the subjects performed 17 exercises on machines and free
weights, and all phases were recorded. Results: 402 angles were found, 56% of these angles were obtuse
and 37% acute, in addition to finding other mathematics subjects. Final considerations: The research
highlights the interconnection between mathematics and the practice of physical exercise, reinforcing the
understanding that mathematics is intrinsically present in different aspects of everyday life and stimulating
mathematical thinking beyond the classroom environment, permeating the experience of human being.
